Overview

Aiota is a custom-built operational data platform designed to collect, unify, and present information from multiple business systems, IoT sources, and real-world workflows in one structured environment.

Since late 2023, mile.dev has been responsible for the architecture, development, and continuous evolution of the platform, working closely with the client in a long-term, highly iterative collaboration.

The challenge

Unifying fragmented operational data into one scalable platform

Aiota needed to solve a fundamentally complex problem: collecting and connecting data from very different systems, devices, and workflows, then presenting it in a way that was clear, actionable, and scalable.

This meant dealing with:

fragmented data across multiple external platforms
IoT devices and real-world operational inputs
highly varied customer use cases across industries
growing complexity as new integrations and features were added
the need for an architecture that could scale without constant restructuring

The goal was to create a centralized platform that could turn disconnected operational data into structured, usable insight.

The system was developed in close collaboration with a technically experienced founder, with each new feature positioned carefully so the platform could continue to grow without compromising structure, reliability, or performance.

Outcome

Since December 2023, mile.dev has been leading the operational data platform development behind Aiota for enterprise operations in Norway. Today, the platform supports 80+ clients and 2,000+ users, with ongoing expansion across integrations, workflows, and industry-specific applications.

The platform continues to evolve through ongoing development, new integrations, and expanding feature sets across multiple operational domains.

This is a long-term partnership, with continuous architectural development, product expansion, and platform scaling.
